Hatshepsut is not really the star of this story. The reader gets to see Hatshepsut through the eyes of her advisers, mainly Senenmut and Neshi. If you want a novel where Hatshepsut gets to be the star, I can't recommend Stephanie Thornton's [b:Daughter of the Gods: A Novel of Ancient Egypt|18667964|Daughter of the Gods A Novel of Ancient Egypt|Stephanie Thornton|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1384282497s/18667964.jpg|26493627] enough. I can't recommend any thing by Stephanie Thornton enough. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was my first novel by Judith Tarr and certainly will not be the last.
