Day 2

Author Mo Willems is my current hero. Every day for the foreseeable future he is dropping new videos. The series is titled "Lunchtime Doodles with Mo Willems". I'll link at the bottom. This video series is ensuring me 25 minutes of peace every day. Today it was especially needed as the weather wasn't ideal.

One of my seven year olds is currently being quarantined as she started running a fever this morning. She's got all of her normal allergy symptoms. I'm hopefully that's all it is for her. They spent most of yesterday outside so it would make sense that her allergies act up a little bit. Fingers crossed. Have you ever tried to quarantine a twin? It doesn't go very well. Of course the argument could be made, she shares a bed with her sister right now so I might as well let them be together. We will see what tomorrow brings.

I was hopeful this time would give me a little bit of extra reading time. That doesn't seem to be the case. I'm finding myself struggling to focus. Last week I was concerned about finishing my current stack of library books before their due date. Now that libraries have been closed down indefinitely, I don't find myself worrying as much. The bigger concern is that my 11 year old will actually manage to run out of books. The school librarian let her bring home two extra books on top of the three she's allowed. Her English teacher let her borrow three from her personal library. Those are in addition to the eight she has from the public library. All of the borrowed books are in addition to the two shelves (full sized books shelves, not just a single shelf within a unit) she has in her room. I told her she's either going to have to pace herself or learn to come to terms with e-books.

My husband printed off activity packets for each child at work today. I'm going to take advantage of his resources as long as they are available to him. Who knows when he's going to get told to close up? There was a temporary work stoppage in the parts department today (my husband does tech work for a large auto dealership/parts warehouse) due to a rumor that they had actually shut down. The CEO of the company he works for hasn't been seen or heard from since the first case was confirmed in the United States. I've never thought much of her leadership abilities in the past. I definitely don't have anything nice to say about them now. In his defense, his health is probably at  greater risk being home with me and the girls all day than it is out in public.
